The celebrity chef currently has a programme on BBC Two called Rick Stein’s Taste of Shanghai.
And it’s about exactly what you can imagine - Mr Stein sampling many of Shanghai’s culinary delights.In his words “we all love a Chinese - the sweet and the sour, the freshness, the crunchiness, the colours, the smell of five spice and soy. I'll be finding the pockets of traditional food still left in this city - the dishes that the Shanghainese long for away from home.”

When Rick was just 18 his dad took his own life near the family's holiday home at Trevose Head, after suffering from bipolar disorder.
The chef has also been married twice, and that’s a whole tale in itself.
He married his first wife, Jill Newstead, in 1975, and together they set up their hotel and restaurant business.
